Well, here they are! I know many of you have been waiting for me to get my butt in gear and post some bday pics. I do have a valid excuse for delaying - our computer was disconnected from the internet for about 10 days plus uploading to Blogger takes a while, especially for a bunch of pictures.
Anyway, on Dayna's 1st birthday we had our family over to celebrate. There was Mommy & Daddy, Grandpa Dennis, Grandma Jackie, Grandpa Alvin, Grandma Grace, Auntie Shawna, Uncle Richard, Cousin Jenna, Uncle Greg, Auntie Ashley, Auntie Sheree & last but not least, crazy Uncle DJ. We had lots of fun opening presents which included clothes, movies, puzzles, a Pooh teddy bear, a team Canada hockey jersey, a stuffed puppy, farm tractors, a Fisher Price farm set, and a Leap Pad little touch learning system. It was mayhem!! Dayna was a little cranky because of course, she wouldn't take a good nap on such an exciting day.
We had "faspa" for our meal (for those who are wondering, this is a meal consisting of buns, cheese, cold meats, pickles, and misc other finger foods) Then came the cake that was quite the feat for me. I was planning on making cubes of cake decorated like building blocks but after 2 batches of icing that weren't the right colour or consistency I decided to just make the whole cake look like building blocks. It tasted good at least. Needless to say, decorating a cake is far more difficult than I thought.
So enjoy the pictures and please, somebody leave a comment once in a while so I know that someone out there is reading this blog. love Rachel.
